National Convention
Blue Valley FFA members traveled to the great state of Kentucky this fall to view the National FFA Convention.
In order to attend the festivities, the members must raise $450 in fruit and meat sales. Amber G., Taellor H., Angie L., Caley
B., Brooke J., Jessie M., Cooper S., Dustin P., Corey L., Dalton H., Mr. Henry, Mrs. Schweer and Advisor Mr. Schweer experienced
5 days of non-stop activity.
Blue Valley members joined up with several other schools from Kansas. They shared a charter
bus all the way to and from Kentucky. The students went to the Louisville Bat Slugger Factory, Church Hill Downs, Ohio Falls,
Wildlife Refuge, tobacco farm, and the Convention center. A team consisting of Brooke J., Dustin P., Corey L., and Dalton
H. participated in the Enviro-thon placing 12th over all. After a long week of non stop fun, the FFA members were on their
long journey home.
Leaders Lab
March 18-19, 2005, FFA members, Brita V., Taellor H., Dana G., and Amber G. and supervisor Ms. Clark, attended
the FFA leaders lab held in Junction City. This is an all night event in which the members learn different leadership
skills as well as participate in leadership type games and a dance held that night. The girls learned a lot and would
like to go again next year.
